The applicant must be highly talented in one of the 10 target industries and be able to command a salary that satisfies the high income criteria in order to be eligible for a visa under the Global Talent Visa Program.

Proof that the applicant is highly talented in their field of work:
- Proof of international recognition with evidence of outstanding achievements
- Prominence in their field of expertise
- Proof that they are an asset to Australia
- Find no difficulty being employed in their field in Australia
- Nomination as a global talent by a recognised organisation or individual with a national reputation in the same field in Australia
Meet the high-income threshold:
- Candidates should be able to attract a salary at or above the Fair Work high income threshold of AUD162,000
- This is done through assessing current salary, future job offers outlining remuneration, and the salary of recent PhD graduates in the target sectors
Applying for the visa is quite straightforward, first the applicant has to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) using the Global Talent Expression of Interest form. Eligible applicants would be notified via email, and would then be asked to lodge a Global Talent (subclass 858) visa application via ImmiAccount.
